Phyllis Bridges, Cornaro Professor of English, unanimously was elected to a three-year term on the board of the Texas Folklore Society and has been appointed to the search committee for the secretary-editor of the society. She previously has served as president of the society and has published numerous articles in its publications and preceedings.

The Texas Folklore Society is in the process of moving from Stephen F. Austin State University to Tarleton State.
