Mental Health Awareness program rescheduled

Mental Health Awareness, a live, web-based training program that was postponed due to February’s winter storm, has been rescheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, April 5. Registration is open. Anyone who previously registered will need to register again for the webinar. Space is limited.

Each participant will receive an email the day before the class including a link and login instructions.

Webinar topics include:

  • Creating awareness about mental health concerns in the workplace
  • Overcoming and preventing stigma of mental health services
  • Signs and symptoms of mental health disorders
  • Utilizing your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act even in the workplace. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Additional resources are available through the university’s EAP, including blogs/articles addressing burnout. EAP also provides individual counseling for employees and their family members as well as assistance in locating community resources and information.

How to access EAP services:

All full-time benefits-eligible faculty and staff have access to the services of an Employee Assistance Program through Alliance Work Partners at no cost to the employee, employee’s spouse, or employee’s family members.
