As the semester rolls on, it’s a good time to update your contact information to ensure you receive Pioneer Alert notifications.
In an emergency situation, those who have registered with the Pioneer Alert system will receive notification through the method of their choice (text, phone call, email). To ensure you receive important information in an emergency, make sure your personal information is updated in Pioneer Portal. As an emergency situation progresses, the TWU home page and social media channels will be used to distribute more detailed information.
Texas Woman’s has developed additional resources to help you prepare for an emergency:
- The TWU Emergency Guidebook is available online and provides step-by-step instructions for how to respond to possible emergencies that could occur at the university
- Online Evacuation and Severe Weather maps indicate evacuation routes and shelter locations for many of our buildings
- Active Assailant information is provided on the TWU Emergency Management page. This short video provides an explanation of “Run, Hide, Fight” and how you can protect yourself during an active assailant incident
Contact the Office of Emergency Management at 940-898-3367 or twuready@twu.edu if you have questions.
