Take steps before storms hit

Spring has sprung, and storms are popping up everywhere. Do you know what to do? TWU Emergency Management’s Severe Weather Guide provides information and resources to help you weather these spring storms.

Do you know the difference between a watch and a warning? Or what you should do during a tornado, or to prepare for a hurricane? The Emergency Management site tells you and provides preparedness resources for your home and office. Take steps before a storm; learn where the primary and secondary shelters are for your building as well as other buildings on campus.

You should monitor your local media when storms are approaching. If there’s an emergency on or near campus, a Pioneer Alert will be activated. The university community is automatically enrolled in Pioneer Alert, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to check your information each semester by logging into your Portal account.
