Texas Woman’s University has partnered with the Arlington Independent School District since 2016, but Heather Cato, PhD, an assistant clinical professor in the School of Education, worked to expand the partnership with a focus in literacy instruction this year.

Arlington ISD, using Title 1 funds, is supporting approximately 100 teachers over the next three years to pursue a Master of Education in Literacy Education to become certified reading specialists in AISD.

The AISD teachers who will participate will be equipped with current instructional strategies to address diverse needs of Arlington ISD students.
