TWU’s Student Money Management Center will conduct a variety of activities in April, which has been named Maroon Money Month at TWU in recognition of National Financial Literacy Month. From in-person games and presentations to virtual information sessions and workshops, the SMMC team is offering something for everyone across all campuses and the online community.
Though primarily aimed at students, faculty and staff may be interested in programs such as “Building Wealth Through Real Estate,” which kicks off Maroon Money Month on Wednesday, March 29. Other personal finance topics that will be covered in April include student loan repayment plans, the basics of buying a car, an introduction to homebuying, financial self-care, and an empowering women workshop presented by TWU alumna Alexa Brascetta, wealth adviser with Valorem Financial and former TWU Gymnastics student-athlete.
Detailed information about all programming can be found in Pioneer Engage as well as the TWU Calendar of Events. Virtual programs will be conducted on Zoom and require participants to pre-register. Follow the center’s Instagram and Facebook social media accounts (@twumaroonmoney) for the most current information.
