The TWU Libraries are a vital support unit for the academic mission of the university, and you have an opportunity to recognize the contributions by library staff members who go beyond their normal duties with the TWU Award for Outstanding Contributions to the TWU Libraries.
Recipients may be library staff members working in any of the libraries that make up the TWU Libraries. The award may go to an individual, a group, or a department. All Texas Woman’s personnel are eligible to submit a nomination, including self-nomination. Each nomination should include:
A cover letter with the name of potential recipient(s); title; name of library department in which the potential recipient works; and name, title, department and/or college of person nominating. Nominators must include their email address and phone number, as well as their relationship to the nominee.
A detailed essay describing the outstanding work for which the person is being nominated. The essay can include work completed within the last three years and should detail outcomes from the work. The essay should be no more than three pages.
A letter from an appropriate supervisor substantiating the nominee’s contribution will be requested after the award recipient is selected by the review committee.
A reasonable amount of supporting documentation also may be included as part of the nomination. This documentation might include such items as appropriate URLs, copies of materials, plans, statistics suggesting success, and/or press releases.
Nominations must be sent via email to Porsche Cullors, Academic Affairs administrator, Provost Office, at pcollors@twu.edu by Friday, March 20. Honorees will be announced and awarded a plaque and/or certificate at the faculty, staff and student awards ceremony (part of the Founders’ Convocation Celebration) scheduled 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 16, in the library living room.
