Derek Miketinas, PhD, has been named a finalist in the American Society for Nutrition’s (ASN) Early Career Research Award Competition. The competition recognizes early-career scientists within 10 years of a doctoral degree working in nutrition science or practices presenting outstanding research.

Six finalists were chosen from 137 applicants and will be recognized during NUTRITION 2023, the American Society for Nutrition’s annual flagship meeting, which will be held virtually July 22-25 in Boston.

Miketinas’s abstract for NUTRITION 2023 is titled “Racial Disparities in Folate Status and NTD Risk Among Nonpregnant Women of Reproductive Age: NHANES 1999-2018.”
