Fit & Rec issues Comal River swim challenge

TWU Fit & Rec is excited to get back in the water and bring you the first ever Virtual Swim Challenge featuring the Comal River.

The goal is to complete the swim mileage of the Comal River, which at two miles is the shortest river in Texas. You may swim this mileage in your home pool, a lake, Pioneer Hall on the Denton campus or another body of water. Record your time and the distance you swam.

To enter the competition, register by 11:59 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18. The challenge is open to all current TWU faculty, staff, students, alumni and TWU family members. You will have from Monday, Sept. 21, until Monday, Oct. 5, to log and submit your swim time and distance. All swims must be tracked using either a fitness watch (Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc.) or app (Runkeeper, Nike Run, etc.). Email a photo or screenshot of your fitness app or watch to Stephanie Gray, facility and aquatic supervisor, at sgray13@twu.edu. The photo or screenshot must display the date, miles and duration of activity.

Only one submission per category, per person is permitted.

A TWU Fit & Rec prize pack will be awarded to the participant who completes the challenge with the quickest swim time.
