  • "A Wilder Theatrical World: Thornton Wilder and His Ideas on the Use of Theatre" is the focus of the next Professor's Corner, from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan.8 at the Denton South Branch LibraryPatrick Bynane (theatre) will present. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Registration is now open for faculty/staff membership payroll deduction for Fitness & Recreation for fiscal year 2017-2018. Access to the Fit & Rec Center and indoor pool is included with the membership. Paperwork is due by Jan. 12. (You don't need to turn in paperwork if you signed up for payroll deduction in Fall 2017.)   • TWU's Center for Women in Business welcomes the Disney Institute to Denton from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 to present Disney's Approach to Quality Service. Visit Disney Institute at TWU for more information about the event. Faculty and staff may receive half off the regular admission price of $389 by registering online and paying with interdepartmental funds transfer (IDT). TWU-issued p-cards will not be accepted for payment.
  • The Community Dance Center at TWU offers a wide range of dance classes to the Denton community. Faculty and staff may receive $10 off the cost of Spring 2018 classes by using the code Spring10 when registering on the center's website. Classes begin Jan. 20.
  • Philip Yang (sociology) and sociology alumnus David Carrothers presented a paper, “Immigration and Total Crime Rate in Rural Iowa,” at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Criminology Nov. 18 in Philadelphia.
