The 2023 Celebration of Science will take place Oct. 19-20 in the Scientific Research Commons and the Ann Stuart Science Complex. See the full schedule of events and information on the guest speakers.

The event is free and open to the public.

Former TWU Chancellor Ann Stuart established the Ann Stuart and Ray R. Poliakoff Celebration of Science series in 2011 with a $200,000 gift to the university. The event, designed to highlight the work of women scientists, this year will recognize a male – Richard Sheardy, PhD, associate director of the TWU School of the Sciences and professor of chemistry & biochemistry.

Sheardy’s talk, “Reflections of a Half Century of Research on DNA Biophysics: The Women Scientists That I Have Mentored,” will focus on the research of some of his female former students.
