Dallas Digest 11-14-18

  • Mari Tietze (nursing) was honored at the 2018 Community Council Awards Nov 8 in Dallas. Tietze received a Community Impact Collaborator award for helping to assess outreach and engagement through use of data analytics on behalf of the organization. She and the TWU health informatics students contributed hundreds of hours in manpower for a variety of projects including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us precision medicine study.
  • Linda Csiza (physical therapy) and several of her students volunteered at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand volunteer-run medical clinic Nov. 3 in Dallas. Because of their volunteerism, 20 clients were provided with free physical therapy care.
  • Dallas Staff Council recognized the Department of Public Safety as the featured department for November. Members of the DPS including Gloria Holcomb, John Gearen, Niateka James, Kristlyn Johnson and Naeem Ali received "Survival Backpacks" as gifts to recognize their dedicated commitment to keeping students, staff and faculty safe on the Dallas campus.
