  • Dallas will have some four-legged visitors April 24 as Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs comes to campus. Come by room 3600 between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. and let them brighten your day!
  • Led by Tina Fletcher and Hope McCarroll (occupational therapy), TWU students helped more than 400 children and their families enjoy a sensory-friendly day at the Dallas Zoo on April 14.
  • Tina Fletcher (occupational therapy) published an article on her annual “Show of Hands” exhibit in the May issue of Arts and Activities. The article was co-written with recent TWU occupational therapy graduate Maria King. Fletcher also published “Serving theatergoing children with special needs: Implications for inter-professional collaboration” in the Youth Theatre Journal (co-authored with former MOT students) and “The effects of sensory diets on children’s classroom behaviors” co-authored with a former Ph.D. student) in the Journal of Occupational Therapy, Schools, and Early Intervention.
  • The Dallas Staff Council honored graduate nursing staff for the month of April. Graduate nursing secretaries June Roberts and Denice Williams, graduate nursing coordinator Brittni Morris, nursing coordinators Taylor Dukes, Deborah Farguson and Isabelle Sislak, and academic advisor Rekha Nair were recognized for their quiet dedication and hard work as they take care of all the details that keep the departments running smoothly and efficiently.
