  • Kelli BrizzolaraAnn MedleyToni Roddey and Sharon Wang-Price (physical therapy) wrote “Effectiveness of Adding a Pelvic Compression Belt to Lumbopelvic Stabilization Exercises for Women with Sacroliliac Pain: A Feasibility Randomized Clinical Trial,” which will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Women’s Health and Physical Therapy.
  • Students from three Korean universities recently visited the College of Nursing in Dallas for the 2018 Global Nursing Program. The two-week program, spearheaded by Ho Soon Michelle Cho (nursing), allows overseas nursing students to learn about critical cardiovascular disorders and women’s healthcare. Nursing faculty provided students with newborn/labor case studies, an informatics case, simulations, virtual IV and a chance for hospital rounding, as well as multiple exchange days to learn about other cultures.
  • Sandra Nasr (nursing) has been selected as a finalist for the D Magazine 2018 Excellence in Nursing Award. Nominees are selected by doctors, patients and other nurses from across North Texas for the honor, which recognizes nurses in a range of nursing specialties. The winners will be featured in the March edition of the publication.
  • Suh-Jen Lin (physical therapy) recently joined a group of faculty from the University of North Texas and the University of Mississippi for an eight-day scholarly exchange trip to the province of Guanxi, China. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education in China and the Guanxi Rehabilitation Association, the trip allowed faculty to visit four rehabilitation hospitals to introduce concepts of physical therapy evaluation and treatment to physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses and therapists, and interact with students of a physical rehabilitation program in the region. The group’s rehabilitation symposium at Jiang-Bin Rehabilitation Hospital in Nanning was broadcast live via the city’s local TV network.
