  • Ho Soon Michelle Cho received the Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award. They recognized her achievement of career longevity and demonstration of unwavering excellence in her profession, Nursing.
  • Linda Merritt (nursing) had her dissertation research accepted for the National Association of Neonatal Nurses Research Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona, in March.
  • Nursing faculty members Ho Soon Michelle Cho and Cathy Bailey organized and delivered a global nursing program from Jan. 2-12 on the Dallas campus. In partnership with five South Korean universities including Gyeongsang National University, Pusan National University, Kyeongsung University, Kyeomyung University and Dankook University, TWU Dallas welcomed 15 senior nursing students from South Korea who were able to shadow nurses at local hospitals, attend lectures and simulations and participate in a cultural exchange day with TWU students. Robert Thomas Jones (student life) also played a role in helping to coordinate the program.

  • Susan Chaney (nursing) along with DNP graduate student Svitlana Crawley (DNP Graduate, Dallas) published “The Insulin Regimen That Works” in the Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice. (2018). Volume 11, Number 2, pages 165-168. 
  • Marsha Neville (occupational therapy) along with TWU Ph.D. alum Veronica Rowe (faculty member at University of Central Arkansas) have published “The Feasibility of Conducting Task-Oriented Training at Home for Patients with Stroke” in the Online Journal of Occupational Therapy.
  • Dallas Staff Council members honored & recognized the Stroke Center & One Stop as the featured departments for January 2019. Recognized staff include Carolyn Pickle, Chantel Brightman, Ashton Brown, Karen Long-Trail. All received gift baskets to recognize their dedication and commitment to providing our Dallas Center visitors, students, faculty and staff with excellent experiences.
  • Suh-Jen Lin (physical therapy) was invited to be a scientific reviewer for the 2018 Orthotics and Prosthetics Outcomes Research Program (OPORP) from the Department of Defense. She reviewed several grant proposals during the period from November to December and attended a three-day review panel meeting in Baltimore Dec. 16-18.
