Dallas Digest 12-12-18

  • TWU Dallas hosted the Annual Winter Lunch for Faculty and Staff on Dec. 4.  Almost 100 Texas Woman's University employees enjoyed turkey with all the sides and desserts. Special thanks to Alan Utter (Provost) and Jorg Waltje (Center for Faculty Excellence) for their generous support and contributions for this event.
  • Dallas Staff Book Club will wrap up the first semester of the new club Dec. 14. A total of 14 members from a variety of areas and programs including Campus Services, DPS, Facilities, IRB, IT, Library, Occupational Therapy and Nursing, read and discussed The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Founders of the group, Chantel Brightman and Karen Zapata (nursing), current chair, are very excited about the staff response and interest and are currently voting on the next book. If you are interested in joining the club, contact Kimberly Richardson (Libraries), who will be chairing the book club this spring.
  • TWU will soon have an office at the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC) in McKinney. Beginning Jan. 2, 2019, Stephanie Stephens (admissions) will serve as the point person at the CHEC.
