University Academic Advising hosted a forum to meet with Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Angela Bauer, PhD, on Oct. 14.
Bauer invited all undergraduate and graduate staff advisors to meet and discuss topics of interest facing the academic advising community and students at Texas Woman’s University. More than 25 academic advisors and advising administrators joined Bauer for the conversation which included a variety of topics, including academic advising at summer orientation and the need for more FTIC students to complete the TSI placement test.
Academic advisors also shared their personal experiences as advisors on campus, as well as their ideas for improving retention and completion rates. Bauer spent more than an hour with the group facilitating the conversation and getting to know more about academic advising at TWU.
