The Johanniter Humanitarian Group (JHG) recently presented scholarships to eight TWU nursing scholars at the Dallas campus, making these talented students JHG Texas Nursing Scholars. The leadership of JHG hopes to establish a community of JHG Texas Scholars who will remain connected and mentor one another. JHG wants their program to not only provide much-needed scholarship funds, but also add value to their experience as pre-service nurses, and hopefully into their careers.
This year’s event was particularly special, not only because of the increase from two to eight scholars, but also because the JHG Texas leadership were able to meet our new College of Nursing leadership including Dean Rosalie Mainous and Associate Dean Shelley Hawkins of the Dallas campus.
Adam Hengeveld, director of development for the College of Business, said, “We are thrilled that JHG Texas has invested their efforts to raise funds in order to support nursing students."
