The Financial Vitality initiative champions and team have developed a multi-step strategy to work toward the enhancement of Texas Woman’s University's financial vitality. This includes:
- Developing an accurate assessment of the university’s financial health;
- Sharing that assessment across the Texas Woman’s community;
- Identifying areas for improvement; and
- Developing budget processes and analytical tools to aid various individuals and groups to guide and manage activities which have the most significant impact on the university’s financial vitality.
We completed the assessment and shared the results with various leadership groups—Faculty Senate, Staff Council, Council of Chairs, Academic Leadership, and the Chancellor’s Cabinet—during the spring semester. Members from those groups have shared back about how helpful the presentation was in shaping the way they can now think and plan for their particular units.
Overall, we have identified some areas for review and potential improvement and will continue to seek ideas from others in the university community. Also, we will work with the Texas Woman’s finance group to develop budget processes and analytical tools that will guide and manage future financial activities. Please look for a call to participate in these efforts.
