Texas Woman's University is among a coalition of nine Texas universities and educational organizations to receive a $99,000 National Science Foundation grant aimed at improving STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education at Hispanic Serving Institutions. The coalition will conduct a conference, "Consejos Colectivos: Improving STEM Success at HSIs," Feb. 27-28 at El Centro College. Claire Sahlin (College of Arts and Sciences), a co-principal investigator on the grant and a member of the organizing committee, will co-chair two conference sessions with Richard Sheardy (chemistry and biochemistry).
