Jennifer Wilson, DNP, oversaw the transformative DNP project by Emily McAllister, DNP, that won the prestigious American Association of Colleges of Nursing's Excellence in Advancing Nursing Practice Award.
"I am truly honored and humbled," McAllister said of the honor. "The faculty at TWU have motivated and inspired me to Boldly Go places I never thought possible."
Only one student is selected annually for this competitive honor, another first for the DNP program and TWU.
"We are thrilled to see our DNP students and alumni advancing in groundbreaking ways that demonstrate positive healthcare and education impacts while garnering increasing attention in the national spotlight," Interim DNP Program Director Jayne Jennings Dunlap, DNP, said.
The award will be presented at the 2025 Doctoral Education Conference at Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, Calif. McAllister will deliver a 30-minute presentation from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2025. The award is also recognized with $1,000.
