TWU leader named to Texas Lyceum board

Wandaliz Turner, associate director of the Center for Women in Government (CWG) at TWU’s Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership (JNIWL)has been named to the Texas Lyceum Board of Directors.

Turner is only the second representative from Denton to serve on the organization’s board since its founding in 1980. She was installed on the 96-member board on Jan. 19 in Austin. The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization is focused on addressing national and state issues and developing new leadership for Texas.

Turner earned a bachelor’s degree in government and a master’s degree in political science, both from TWU, and said she hopes to apply knowledge gained in those disciplines to her work at the Lyceum.

The Lyceum will hold its public conference from April 4–6 in Houston.
