Bethany Fijan, assistant clinical professor of the College of Nursing in Dallas, was selected as a top-3 finalist out of 80 participants at the Texas Healthcare Challenge Hackathon Feb. 23-24.

Fijan pitched the problem of lack of flexibility of shift length offerings to nurses, formed and led a team from a variety of backgrounds to develop and assess an actionable business model, presented to judges, and won $1,500 for their innovative healthcare solution.
