Averitt earns Outstanding Research Award

Dayna Averitt, PhD, of the Texas Woman's University Biology Division, has been named recipient of the Outstanding Research Award from The SHIFT Event.

The award is for Averitt's work understanding how women experience pain differently than men, leading to advances in pain management, neurosensory research and development of non-opioid therapeutics. Averitt has worked to uncover the biological mechanisms behind pain perception and personalized treatments for women who suffer from chronic pain.

Averitt will be honored at The SHIFT Event on March 29 in Dallas.
