The hard work Texas Woman’s faculty and staff undertook in moving in-classroom coursework into online learning in response to the COVID-19 crisis was recognized by Educate to Career, a California education nonprofit. The organization, which ranked universities based on their ability to provide a quality education during the economic crisis brought on by the coronavirus, placed TWU in the highest category.
The study placed universities into tiers based on in-classroom, online, and blended instruction, along with other factors. It placed Texas Woman’s in Tier 1, the top-ranked group. To qualify for Tier 1, universities had to have a physical campus, robust software and systems to support distance learning programs, faculty experience in teaching online, and reasonable tuition and fees.
Texas Woman’s is one of only five North Texas universities to receive the Tier 1 ranking.
