The Student Money Management Center has been selected by the Texas Association of Collegiate Financial Education Professionals (TACFEP) to serve as co-host for its Annual Symposium along with the University of North Texas.
TWU will welcome financial education professionals from across Texas to the Student Union at Hubbard Hall on the Denton campus on June 7. The two-day symposium will continue June 8 at UNT.
In 2013, TACFEP became the first statewide membership association in the nation to provide financial education professionals with a network of resources and professional development opportunities. TACFEP members consist of educators, professionals, and students engaged in creating, providing, or supporting financial education and wellness in postsecondary education in Texas. Today, the association has 75 active members representing 27 higher education institutions and affiliated organizations.
TWU faculty and staff who are current TACFEP members include: Pamela Baker, PhD (Business), Megan Burke, PhD (Business), Ken Boonme, PhD (Business), Stephany Compton (Library), Chalese Connors (SMMC), Michelle Kelly, PhD (Health & Wellbeing Initiative), Elizabeth Mendoza (Financial Aid), Gabby Pringle Onwunaka (SMMC), Jeff Scott (Financial Aid), and Lacey Thompson (Financial Aid).
