Purple bins provide on-campus recycling resource

If you are running out of things to do during your extended time at home, consider cleaning out your closets and helping TWU at the same time!

TWU has partnered with Recycle 2 Support for a little over one year to provide recycling bins on campus. The purple bins are located at the Guinn and Stark residence halls, Lowry Woods apartments and Parliament Village.

Recycle 2 Support focuses on the recycling of textiles (clothing, linens, blankets, backpacks, etc.) and small household items. Their goal is to prevent unwanted clothing and household items from ending up in landfills by providing a convenient and eco-friendly way of disposing of them. The company donates nine cents to Texas Woman’s University for every pound of clothing collected in the bins on the Denton campus.

To date, TWU has collected 14,104 pounds of donated items, equivalent to almost $1,300 that is designated to the Health and Wellbeing Initiative as part of the Build Well theme

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Health and Wellbeing Initiative.
