The School of Occupational Therapy hosted the 27th annual Vanerdkooi Endowed Lectureship and Community Building Workshops on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Dallas Center. Almost 300 people attended the educational workshops, a community-partner panel discussion and the endowed lectureship offered by Deidre Dawson, PhD, a licensed occupational therapist in Ontario, Canada, professor and interim chair in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto and a senior scientist with the Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest Health Sciences in Toronto.
Gail Poskey chaired the event planning committee, with Shannon Levandowski, Jennie Martin and Linda Barnett assisting. More than 100 alumni attended, including current TWU Regent Bernadette Coleman. A special highlight was a visit with alumna and former regent Virginia Chandler-Dykes.
