If you’ve tried to swipe your TWU ID card to gain access to a university building this week and it didn’t work, chances are it’s time for a new ID card – and a new method for gaining entry.
Beginning the week of Nov. 14, the university switched from a swiping card-key motion to a “tapping” motion to gain access to locked university buildings at all campuses. The change was ordered to comply with a safety audit that required the security update.
TWU staff with older ID cards were notified in August to get replacements that would work on the updated card readers outside university buildings. Employees with outdated cards can arrange to get a new one at:
- Denton – ID Services, room 2209, Student Union at Hubbard Hall
- Dallas – Student Life, suite 3600
- Houston – Student Life, suite 2300
