Nursing students in Houston began working this week with Pearland ISD school nurses to help with the hearing and vision screenings for children who returned to the schools. The TWU students, who have received the required training and certification to conduct the screenings, will go to approximately 20 different schools during the next four weeks.

Nursing faculty Angeles Nava and adjunct clinical faculty member Sonya Scott coordinated the service-learning project with Pearland ISD.
