  • Theresa Smith (occupational therapy) was part of a multi-discipline research team that has published an article entitled “Stroke Survivor and Caregiver Perspectives on Post-Stroke Visual Concerns and Long-Term Consequences” in Behavioral Neurology.
  • Carolyn Da Silva (physical therapy) and Megan Flores, a TWU Ph.D. candidate, have published “Trunk control and gross motor outcomes after body weight supported treadmill training in young children with severe cerebral palsy: a non-experimental case series” in Taylor and Francis Online. The pair also has been invited to present the independent study as a poster at the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Annual Conference (APPTAC) in Chattanooga on November 9- 11, 2018.
  • Sandra Murdock (health care administration) co-authored manuscript, “Disruptive Change in Healthcare: A Conceptual Model for Healthcare Administration Education,” has been accepted for publication in the The Journal of Health Administration Education.
  • Under the leadership of Dewaynna Horn (MBA), the She Said, She Led, She Is, “Be Audacious” event held Saturday, Oct. 6, on the TWU Houston campus, was a huge success with over 100 women attending. During the event, Mayor Sylvester Turner issued a proclamation declaring Oct. 6 as She Said, She Led, She Is Day in the City of Houston. The event was sponsored by the TWU College of Business and the Center for Women in Business. A special thank you to Bill Bussman for his help in preparing the campus for the event.

  • Anita Hufft (nursing) will be on the debate panel as the Texas Medical Center Health Policy Institute presents “The Great Health Care Debate” from 5-8 pm, October 25, at Third Coast Restaurant. The event will feature Hufft and other leading experts from across TMC who will discuss universal health care, the role of government assistance programs, and ways to reduce health care costs – among other hot-button issues. The event is open to the public but you must be registered to attend.
