12th International Conference on Practice Teaching and Field Education in Health and Social Work
held Sept. 10-11, Oxford, UK.
Theresa Smith
(occupational therapy) contributed a chapter in the
Centennial Edition of Willard & Spackman’s Occupational Therapy
textbook. Along with her coauthor, Nicole Picone, Smith wrote a chapter covering “Providing occupational therapy for disaster survivors.”
TWU Houston’s School of Physical Therapy teamed up with Memorial Hermann Sports and Rehab to host a presentation by Adriaan Louw, PT, Ph.D., a world-renowned speaker on Pain Science last Saturday, Sept. 8, on the Houston campus. His presentation “Teaching Patients About Pain and Perioperative Neuroscience Education” drew approximately 160 attendees, including faculty, clinicians and DPT students.

to attend the TMC Health Policy Institute’s program releasing the results of their 4th annual national survey Wednesday, September 12, 5:30-7 pm, at Third Coast Restaurant. The survey, which provides insight into the public’s perception of health policy issues, aims toward shedding light on how the views of everyday citizens could shape health policy decisions of the future. The event is free to the public and includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres.
