  • Rupal Patel (physical therapy) led a group of 45 physical therapy students on a trip to the Texas State Capitol for the Texas Physical Therapy Association Legislative Day 2019. The group visited with members of the Legislature to discuss direct access to physical therapy services for Texans.
  • Under the leadership of Alicia Lohmann and Catherine Cooper Hay (occupational therapy), several occupational therapy students traveled to the Texas State Capitol for Texas Occupational Therapy Association Day. The students had an opportunity to visit with state representatives and senators regarding the state of occupational therapy in Texas.
  • The Houston Staff Development Committee invites all staff and faculty to participate in this year’s Taste of Texas Potluck from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 on the 8th floor Legacy Room. Please sign up to bring your favorite dish.   
  • The annual Parry Lecture will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 in the Houston Endowment second-floor auditorium. Margaret Moss, Ph.D., JD, RN, FAAN, director of the First Nations House of Learning and nursing faculty member at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver Campus, will present “Indigenizing the Health Professions,” with a focus on health care for Native Americans and Alaska natives.
