The TWU School of Occupational Therapy and the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences teamed up for an intraprofessional workshop April 25 at the TWU Houston campus.

Occupational Therapy (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students collaborated in learning activities to understand the relationships, roles, and responsibilities of OT and OTAs across practice settings. Topics included developing mutual respect for effective teamwork, strategies for effective communication, and safe and effective OT services to enable clients to successfully engage in meaningful occupations.

Supriya Sen (TWU, Houston), Renee Shepherd and Anima Smith (both HCC Coleman College) facilitated the event, which was attended by 42 OT and 21 OTA students.
