Girls Inc. visits TWU Dallas

Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas visited TWU Dallas Friday, June 23. The TWU College of Nursing organized one of the stations the Girls Inc. participants visited on campus.

Participating girls learned how to take blood pressures, to recognize safety hazards in a hospital room, and competed in a wheelchair relay race.

Nursing Simulation Lab Manager Eric Smith and faculty members Laura Kubin, PhD, and Niki Fogg with student lab assistant Joelle Wallace created the interactive station for the Girls Inc. students.

Girls Inc. is a network of nonprofit organizations that serves girls ages 5-18 across the United States and Canada. The organization focuses on supporting, mentoring and guiding girls to value their whole selves and to discover and develop their inherent strengths.
