You will complete a variety of water workouts on your own time throughout the eight-week program. As you complete each workout, you are able to move up the wave located on the bulletin board at the pool. Once you complete all workouts and have moved through the wave, you will receive a Fit & Rec prize. Sign up at the pool front desk in Pioneer Hall.
Virtual Swim Challenge
- Register by 11:59 p.m., Friday, March 19. This event is open to all current TWU students, staff, faculty, alumni, and TWU family members.
- You will be given from Monday, March 22, until Monday, April 5, to log and submit your swim time and distance. All swims must be tracked using either a fitness watch (Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc.) or app (Runkeeper, Nike Run, etc.). If you do not have a device to track your swim, you may have a lifeguard sign off on the swim if you use TWU’s pool.
- There are two categories this year: a two-mile or five-mile swim. You can only win in one category. You will swim this mileage in your home pool, lake, Pioneer Hall (TWU students and Fit & Rec members) or some body of water, and will record your time and distance that you swam.
- One mile counts as 1,650 yards in the swim community.
- Email a photo or screen shot of your fitness app or watch to Steph Gray. Photo or screenshot must display the date, miles, and duration of activity. Only one submission per category, per person.
- A TWU Fit & Rec prize pack will be awarded to the participant who completes the challenge with the quickest swim time in each category.
