  • Michelle Buggs (undergraduate studies and academic partnerships), Mindy Patterson (nutrition and food science, Houston), and Cory Church (nursing, Dallas) have been accepted into the inaugural cohort of the Texas Academic Leadership Academy, a partnership between the Texas Council for Chief Academic Officers and Sam Houston State University. The academy is an intensive year-long leadership experience for faculty and staff looking to enhance their leadership capacities in academic affairs. TWU participants will join aspiring leaders from institutions across Texas to engage in face-to-face meetings throughout the year and monthly online sessions.
  • Student Life recognized the contributions of division staff during its annual awards breakfast. The Student Life Awards Committee coordinated the event, which has been a mainstay for more than a decade.
  • Ten TWU faculty and staff hopped on bicycles, strapped on helmets and rode to downtown Denton for tacos on National Bike to Work Day, May 18. Some used TWU’s new Spin Bikes to participate in the Bike to Lunch event. Faculty and staff can use these bicycles to get some exercise or ride to lunch while keeping their parking space on campus.
