  • The Texas Woman's University community offers its condolences to the family and friends of Linda Caldwell, Ph.D., who passed away April 22, 2018 in Denton Presbyterian Hospital. Caldwell was a member of the TWU dance faculty for more than 13 years, retiring in March of this year. A memorial service in Denton is pending. More information will be provided when available.
  • The Department of Music presents a Guitar Ensemble Recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26 in the Little Chapel-in-the-Woods. Admission is free.
  • The Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Outreach and TWU Dining Services invite you to the annual Cinco de Mayo Festival Wednesday, May 2. Lunch will be available for $7.58 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Student Union Underground, then stop by the outdoor amphitheater at 4 p.m. for crafts, music, food and more.
  • Mark your calendars for the House of Royals, the fashion and textiles program's annual Senior Montage Fashion Show, Friday, May 4 in the Margo Jones Performance Hall. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Each spring, TWU fashion students create and produce a runway exhibition that showcases collections designed and created by students. Tickets for this year’s event are $12-$15 and may be purchased online. Children ages 12 and younger will be admitted for $10, but those tickets must be purchased at the door.
  • Nursing faculty members Becky Spencer, Elizabeth Restrepo and Patti Hamilton are on the list of DFW Great 100 Nurses and were recognized at an April 18 ceremony in Dallas. Nurses from across DFW are nominated for the recognition by their peers, and recipients are selected by a committee through an anonymous process.
  • Publication of Ellina Grigorieva’s (mathematics) new book, “Methods of Solving Number Theory Problems,” is forthcoming from Springer Nature. This is the fourth in a series of books by Grigorieva.
