  • Need an official university photo? Mark your calendars to have your photo taken from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, March 21 or 1-4 p.m. Thursday, March 22 in the ACT second-floor lobby. This is the final university photo session scheduled in Denton this semester.
  • Faculty and staff are invited to serve as instructors for UNIV1231: Learning Frameworks in Fall 2018 as part of the First-Year Experience. Instructors, who will be provided a $1,000 stipend, must hold a master’s degree.  The application for UNIV 1231 Instructors is online via SharePoint under Undergraduate Studies. The priority application deadline is Friday, April 6.
  • University Housing and Residence Life staff members brought home four awards from the South West Association of College and University Housing Officers conference Feb. 18-21 in San Marcos. Josh Mackrill received the Nancy Murphy-Chadwick New Professional of Distinction award; Vik Arunkumar received the Bob Cooke Distinguished Service Award; Mere Maddox received the first-ever Mid-Level Professional of Distinction award; and Jill Eckardt received the James L. Gibson Exceptional Service Award.
  • Celia Lo (sociology), TWU doctoral students William Ash-Houchen and Heather Gerling, and Tyrone C. Cheng (Montclair State University) published “Data Spanning Three Decades Illustrate Racial Disparities in Likelihood of Obesity” in Ethnicity & Health.
  • Josh Walton has joined Student Life as assistant director for new student programs. In this role, he will coordinate all aspects of the division’s orientation programs. Walton previously served as coordinator for orientation at the University of North Texas.
