  • Did you have a TWU head shot photo taken this semester? Those photos are now available on the PhotoShelter website. Click on "Galleries" at the top of the screen, then select "Public," where the "Head Shots" folder is located. Be sure to review the “How to Download” instructions before trying to download the images. Photos are organized by date and location.
  • The next session of Professor’s Corner will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8 at the Denton South Branch Library, 3228 Teasley Ln. Genevieve West, professor of English and department chair, will present “Short Stories by Harlem Renaissance Writers.” This is the final session of the 2018-2019 season.
  • The TWU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi recently was recognized as a Circle of Excellence Platinum Chapter, the highest commendation a chapter can receive from the organization. The award is given to chapters that exceed expectations in chapter operations and demonstrate sustainability and vitality. Laura Trujillo-Jenks (teacher education) is the current chapter president.
  • Minkowan Goo (teacher education) is now a reviewer for Korean Society of Life Long Education and Welfare for People with Disabilities.
  • Jessica Gullion (sociology) has been awarded honorable mention for her book, Diffractive Ethnography, by the 15th International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry. The Qualitative Book Award is given annually to a member of the qualitative and ethnographic community who has published the English-language book that best represents an important contribution to qualitative inquiry.
  • Jennifer Woo (nursing) recently received two bits of good news: She will be inducted into the American College of Nurse-Midwives in May, and was accepted into the very competitive National Institute of Nursing Research Summer Genetics Institute scheduled June 3-28 at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
