  • Still in need of a university head shot? Faculty and staff photos will be taken from 1-5 p.m. March 6 in the ACT second-floor lobby. This will be the last session this semester. No appointment necessary – just show up and smile!
  • Congratulations to all participants in the first on-campus 5K for March for a Cure, held Friday, March 1. A total of 41 faculty, staff and student participants raised $1,026, with 100% of the funds granted to CancerCare, a national nonprofit that provides free support services and information to help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer.
  • All spots for the March 22 Ally Training session have been filled, but anyone interested in attending may email counselingcenter@twu.edu and ask to be added to the waitlist. Please include your full name; contact phone number; email; T-shirt size; pizza lunch choice of sausage, cheese, veggie, pepperoni, gluten-free, etc.; any accommodations needed; and whether you are faculty or staff. Registration officially closes Monday, March 18.
  • ERGO-RSA, the English and Rhetoric Graduate Student Organization Rhetoric Society of America, will host its annual Mock Conference event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, March 22 in CF0 104. Faculty, staff and students can come practice their conference presentations or public speaking events and receive feedback and constructive criticism from ERGO members.   • Mark your calendars for the final Maroon and White Luncheon for Spring 2019. The luncheon will take place at noon Tuesday, April 2 at Outback Steakhouse, 300 S. I-35 East. Lunch is served for $5 and includes a Q&A with coaches and staff.
  • Texas Woman’s and Project Invest will sponsor a Veterans Run-Bike-Roll event Saturday, April 6 at South Lakes Park, 556 Hobson Lane in Denton. Registration and sign-in are from 7-8 a.m., with a 3K Fun Run/Walk beginning at 8:30 a.m.; a 3K bike ride beginning at 8:35 a.m.; and a 1.2K wheelchair “roll” at 8:45 a.m. There’s no cost to participate, but donations are welcome.   • Donna Scott-Tilley (research & sponsored program) presented a poster and Jennifer Woo (nursing) conducted a podium presentation at the Southern Nursing Research Society’s 2019, held Feb. 27-March 1 in Orlando. TWU doctoral student Karen Vessier also presented a poster discussion.
