  • Go Red: Walking Wednesdays are back! Walk or be active at your own pace each Wednesday in February. Events take place from 3-4 p.m. inside the Fitness & Recreation Center. February is National Heart Month, and TWU Student Health Services will hold these and other events to promote the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women awareness campaign.
  • The North Texas Food Bank Mobile Pantry will be in the Jones Hall parking lot from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. All qualifying faculty, staff and students are invited to grab some fresh fruits and veggies. Questions? Contact CARE at care@twu.edu or x2789.
  • TWU hosted the third annual Scholarship Invitational Feb. 1-2 on the Denton campus. The event serves as a recruitment event for scholarship programs such as the Terry Scholarship and President’s Leadership Council. The Chancellor’s Endowed recipient and Honors Program candidates also are sought during the event. More than 70 high-achieving and highly involved prospective first-year students interviewed to be awarded more than $2 million in institutional and private funds. Chancellor Carine M. Feyten also hosted a reception where students and their guests were able to speak with administrators and deans.
  • Congratulations to Marie E. Butler (student life), who was awarded third place in the Greater Denton Arts Council’s Materials Hard and Soft competition and exhibition. Her work, a quilt titled Black Noise, was one of 68 pieces chosen out of more than 1,100 submissions.
