  • The TWU Community is invited to a retirement celebration for Regina Webber (technology), honoring her 25 years of service to the university. The reception will take place from 2-3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 30) in the Stoddard Hall lobby. Cake and light refreshments will be provided.
  • The Denton campus will host Pioneer Preview Day Saturday, Feb. 2. This event gives prospective first-year students the opportunity to learn more about the university, including an academic preview with various faculty members.
  • Mandy Stewart (reading) contributed a response to the question, “How do you promote speaking with English-language learners?,” published Jan. 28 on the” Education Week Teacher” blog.
  • Ellina Grigorieva (mathematics) authored a paper, “Chattering and Its Approximation in Control of Psoriasis Treatment,” which has been accepted for publication by the special issue of the Journal of Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems, Series B.
  • Congratulations to Camelia Maier (biology), recipient of the National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution’s State Conservation Award for Texas. Maier was nominated based on her distinguished volunteer conservation record and was selected based on her efforts in the conservation of pollinators in the Dr. Bettye Meyers Butterfly Garden. She will be presented with the NSDAR Conservation medal and certificate at the state conference banquet on March 22.
