  • Mark your calendars! Official university head shots will be taken from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 and 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. All photo sessions will take place on the ACT second-floor lobby.
  • The College of Professional Education will host a reception to introduce Maria Elena Gomez Parra from the University of Cordoba in Spain. She will talk about her Erasmus-funded scholarship program, PETaL EMJMD, which provides funding for a full master’s program in Spain, Portugal and Turkey. The university community is invited to the reception, which will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in the Stoddard Hall lobby. RSVP is requested by Friday, Jan. 25.
  • Registration is open for TWU’s community music and dance centers. Staff may be particularly interested in a Community Music Center adult group piano class that meets from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Fridays. This class counts toward TWU’s Workplace Wellness Program — with supervisor approval, staff can add 30 minutes to their lunch breaks in order to attend. Want to explore dance?   • Shazia Ahmed (biology) and Lisa Rosen (psychology) published an article, “A Growth Mindset: Essential for Student and Faculty Success,” in the Jan. 18 issue of Faculty Focus.
  • Ellina Grigorieva (mathematics) coauthored two papers, “A Control Based Mathematical Study on the Role of Regulatory T cells in the Inhibition of Psoriasis Using UVB Exposure Therapy” and “Control Models of Allergy Treatment” published in the book “Optimal Control and Differential Games,” Max Press, 2018.
