Denton County is offering free Mental Health First Aid workshops (both adult and youth) to educators throughout the summer. This is in addition to the workshops that will be offered through the Health and Wellbeing Initiative to TWU faculty and staff.

Any employee of an ISD, charter school, trade school or higher education institution can attend any of these classes. Cost of the course is funded through the HHSC Texas Schools Initiative Grant.

This course is evidence-based, free, and meets most of the objectives for HB training requirements as well as criteria for CEUs.  The TEA has also agreed to double the face-to-face time.

The Teen Mental Health First Aid program also will be offered to youth in grades 10-12.  Contact Finley if interested.
