Dallas faculty, DPT students provide aid in Guatemala

Physical Therapy faculty members Jodi Thomas and Margaret Ramos (both Dallas) recently traveled with DPT (doctor of physical therapy) students to Guatemala for an international collaboration with Hearts in Motion, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower volunteers to positively impact the lives of people in need.

The TWU School of Physical Therapy representatives delivered physical therapy services to more than 150 patients; held a Saturday clinic with the Fundacion Quique Ceron Facility; and assisted with the unpacking of Hearts in Motion’s shipment container holding vital medical supplies.

Students who participated were Melissa Lopez, Miranda Vassh, Megan McGlothing, Elizabeth Trujillo, Brenda Altamira, Alexis Gomez, AJ Carpenter, and Drea Sigsbee.
