  • Under the leadership of faculty coordinator Kathy Shirley (physical therapy), students Kailey Sanders (occupational therapy), Kristen Stucky (physical therapy) and Lenna King (nursing), held the interdisciplinary Mental Health First Aide Certification workshop Feb. 2. The third annual workshop successfully brought together 30 physical therapy, occupational therapy and nursing students for training, with the added bonus of learning more about each discipline. The workshop was supported by the TWU Health and Wellbeing Initiative.
  • Physical therapy faculty members Kathy Shirley and Kelli Brizzolara presented their research titled “Feasibility of a Brief Mindfulness Program on Stress and Anxiety Levels in Doctor of Physical Therapy Students” at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting held Jan 23-26 in Washington, DC.
  • Dallas Staff Council members honored and recognized the undergraduate nursing clerical staff as the featured department for February 2019.  Recognized staff includes Maricela Villasana, Mary Ann Mulligan, Karen Zapata and Michelle Jones. In addition, Zapata received an award of recognition for her dedicated service to Staff Council from 2012-2019.  She worked to implement change and bring new opportunities to the Dallas Center during her seven years on Staff Council.
