2019 American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Conference & Expo
April 4-7 in New Orleans. The event is the largest gathering of occupational therapy professionals in the world.
Sit
presented a poster on the “Effectiveness of Telehealth Education in Executive Function for Stroke Survivors Proposal Type: Translational Research.”
Poskey
presented two research posters: “A Mixed-Method Study Examining Family Mealtime Experiences in Caregivers of Gastronomy-Tube-Fed Children with Cerebral Palsy” and “From Perception to Perspective: Assessing the Effectiveness of Service Learning.”
Pickens
presented a tech lab on “Home-Safety Assessment for Aging in Place and Home Integration, There’s an App for That” and a research poster on “How Hydration Habits Influence Morning Balance and Blood Pressure (BP) of Institutionalized Older Adults (IOA).” She also received a Service Commendation Award for Quarterly Editor, Productive Aging Special Interest Section, 2016-2019.
Tina Fletcher
was unable to attend the conference, but did contribute a research poster, “Tier 3 Response to Intervention case studies guided by a checklist.”

National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties
annual meeting April 4-7 in Atlanta. The meeting hosted more than 900 nurse practitioner faculty members from across the nation.
Shelley Hawkins
, who will start her position as new associate dean of the Dallas campus in June, was a presenter at the conference.
