The spring semester has just begun, and the start of TWU’s Core Assessment Academy is not far behind.
During the Core Assessment Academy volunteers collaboratively evaluate the progress of TWU undergraduate students enrolled in core courses. Faculty, staff, administrators, graduate students, alumni and members of the community are invited to serve as volunteer raters.
Sessions are offered in-person and virtually. Lunch will be provided for the in-person sessions. You’ll also receive TWU swag and be entered into a raffle for prizes.
The State of Texas requires regular assessments of the core curriculum – the set of required classes undergraduates must choose from outside their majors and minors. Volunteer raters look at student work, decide on scores and talk about what they’re seeing. Results are later analyzed.
Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to sign up by Monday, Jan. 23. Contact Aimee Myers at amyers8@twu.edu if you have questions.
