There’s a lot of work happening on the Denton campus, so for your safety, be observant when walking or driving near these areas.
Chapel Drive is closed from Bell Avenue to just west of the crosswalk as Facilities Management works to replace the existing asphalt roadway with concrete. The sidewalk on the north side of Chapel Drive also will be expanded, and the crosswalk will be relocated.
Work is expected to be completed June 20. Contact Will Patten at wpatten@twu.edu if you have questions or concerns.
Renovations for the first floor and basement of Guinn Hall also are underway. On the first floor, the main corridor on the north side and the center offices are marked off as a construction area up to the living room. Entry to the building should be made from the south doors that face into the campus; do not use the north entry doors that face University/380. In the basement, the construction area will be the laundry room and the main corridor.
The Guinn Hall project is expected to be complete in August, prior to the start of fall classes. Contact Donald Strickland at dstrickland@twu.edu if you have any questions or concerns about the project.
Elsewhere on campus, a section of pavement between Pioneer Hall and the Dining Hall has been fenced off for a contractor construction yard. Construction will be on the second floor at the old climbing wall and racquetball courts. The project is expected to be complete in August, prior to the start of fall classes. Contact Steve Adcock at sadcock@twu.edu if you have questions or concerns about the project.
